FAQS

Your choice of Physical Therapist is just that—your choice. Physicians often recommend patients to a physical therapist that they trust. Insurance companies will provide a list of physical therapists that are “in-network” with your plan. Ultimately you should choose a place where you feel comfortable and that meets your needs.

Maryland is a “direct access” state therefore our licensed therapists can see and treat you without a physician’s referral. If there are any special circumstances that require a physician consultation, we will contact a local physician directly to get you an immediate appointment.

Only your insurance company can set your co-pay. Our office staff will handle the authorization process and report back to you with accurate information regarding your policy’s Physical Therapy coverage.

Our goal is to relieve pain and minimize any discomfort. There are two ways to measure progress: 1) you have decrease pain or 2) you are able to increase your activity without increasing pain. Sometimes you might develop muscle soreness from working muscles that you have not used. In any situation it is important to inform your therapist of any changes in pain you may have during and after each session.

A thorough exam and comprehensive evaluation is performed to determine whether or not physical therapy will achieve your expected goals. With your medical history and test results complete, your physical therapist can gain a clear understanding of your condition, identify your limitations, and establish a plan of care.

We will implement your plan of care through an evidence based practice and approach that is specifically personalized to your condition, age, and activity level.

Your therapist will begin treatment on your first session.

  2. Phone number of adjuster

You should plan on each session lasting a minimum of 50 minutes and a maximum of 75 minutes. Remember, sessions are based on individual treatment plans, which will vary.

If there are any changes in your level of pain, please do not hesitate to contact your therapist or our staff and let us know. The therapist will recommend you keep your appointment to help assess your pain and to implement treatment. If you re-injured or sustained a new injury the therapist will call and get you an immediate appointment with your physician.

Please do not hesitate to give your therapist a call if you feel your symptoms have returned. At that time the therapist will determine if you need a reevaluation or to continue with your home exercise program.
